With the development of a low-carbon environment, clean energy vehicles have gained widespread popularity.
According to statistics released by the Ministry of Public Security in August 2023, the number of new energy vehicles in China has reached 10.99 million. This indicates that the demand for charging stations will continue to grow in the near future. However, the massive charging demands of electric vehicles may lead to overloads in the distribution network, a need for increased supply capacity, and challenges to generation and transmission capacity.
Integrated Solar-PV-Charging
The integrated solar-PV-charging solution refers to the combination of “photovoltaics + energy storage + charging.”
In this process, the first step is solar power generation, which relies on the “photovoltaic effect” to convert solar energy absorbed by photovoltaic panels into electrical energy. This is outputted as direct current and delivered to the grid through an inverter.
Next, the energy storage system acts like a regulator, storing excess photovoltaically generated power or grid electricity during off-peak hours. During peak charging periods, it releases stored energy alongside grid power, meeting the electricity demand during high usage times, flattening peak demand and filling valley periods. This helps mitigate the impact of the mismatch between photovoltaic generation and consumption, ensuring stable operation of this microgrid ecosystem and improving energy utilization.
Finally, charging facilities provide charging services to electric vehicles.
The integrated solar-PV-charging solution offers the benefit of “instant generation, instant use, and instant storage.” This solution maximizes energy value, alleviates pressure on the grid, ensures the stable and safe operation of charging stations and the grid, reduces charging losses, and enables peak-valley arbitrage to generate revenue, all while achieving low-carbon emissions.
Modular Energy Storage Systems
Recreen Energy’s modular energy storage system is equipped with modular energy storage PCS, EMS, fully automatic fire detection, cooling, illumination, and emergency lighting systems. Customers can monitor and control the energy storage system at any time through the EMS.
The system features a standardized structural design, allowing for flexible configurations, including photovoltaic charging modules, grid-connection and disconnection modules, industrial frequency transformers, and more. The system design can be customized based on specific needs and customer-provided packs, including optimized structure, air ducts, and communication protocols for BMS and EMS.
In 2024, Recreen Energy successfully launched solar-PV-charging projects in Shenzhen, Bazhong in Sichuan, and other locations. These projects not only helped enterprises, parks, and charging stations save on energy costs but also generated additional income through peak-valley arbitrage and excess energy sales.
